Book an appointment

Once you have a valuation, you can choose a date, time, and branch that is convenient for you. You’ll take your car to this branch to have it appraised.

We’ve got over 550 branches across the UK, with an average drive time of 11 minutes.

Sell your car

At your appointment our buyer will inspect your car and confirm your valuation. If you choose to go ahead, we’ll walk you through all paperwork, and your car is sold.

We’ll transfer the payment directly to your chosen bank account by electronic transfer.

Our buyers will help you through any issues you may have, and there is no obligation to sell at our appointments - we don’t use pushy sales tactics.

What to bring to your appointment?

Before you attend your appointment, please make sure you have the correct documents.

Email and telephone contact details for each branch can be found through our branch locator.

Documents

  • V5 document (or logbook).
  • Car's service history (if it has one).

Identification

  • Photographic proof of ID (e.g., driving licence, passport).
  • Proof of address from the last 9 months (e.g., utility bill, council tax bill, bank statement).
    • If the address on your driving licence matches your V5, proof of address is not required.
    • If you use a passport as your proof of ID, proof of address is still required.

Finance details

  • Your UK bank details (so we can pay you).
  • If there is outstanding finance, a letter from the finance company confirming their settlement figure.

Other

  • Any extras that we’ll need such as second car key, locking wheel nut for alloy wheels or documents containing security codes.

Frequently asked questions

On average appointments take around 20 minutes. This includes vehicle appraisal and completion of all paperwork.

All appointments are free, with no obligation to sell. See below a step-by-step schedule for your appointment:

  1. Arrive with your vehicle at your chosen branch location and at your scheduled appointment slot. Our vehicle purchaser will be waiting to greet you.
  2. You can accompany our purchaser while your vehicle is inspected. This includes a short test drive where the purchaser will move the vehicle several meters forwards and backwards.
  3. You will be offered a price for your car.
  4. If you do decide to sell your car, our purchaser will run through all the relevant paperwork with you and arrange for money to be paid into your chosen bank account. You have the option to upgrade your payment to receive the money faster (charge may apply). The paperwork to be completed includes:
    • Notifying the DVLA of the sale to allow you to receive a road tax refund
    • Updating the vehicle logbook (V5C)
    • Paying any outstanding finance using an in date settlement letter.
  5. After completing your appointment, you will be sent a unique link for tracking your payment. The Payment Tracker link provides information on progress, including an estimated payment date.

If you do decide to sell your car, please ensure that you have made arrangements for your return journey.

Payment options

By default payment will be made directly to your bank account within 4 working days after the day of sale, using our standard electronic bank transfer service. There is no charge for this service.

We also offer a next working day payment service at an additional fee of £24.75 and an Immediate Payment (15 mins or less) option to selected customers for an additional fee of £29.75. We do not charge a Next Working Day Payment or Immediate Payment fee where we are offering to purchase your vehicle for less than £500.

Payment tracking

After completing your appointment you will be sent you a unique link for tracking your payment. The Payment Tracker link includes all information on payment progress including an estimated payment date. This unique link will be sent:

  • over email and contained within your invoice PDF. The email subject line will read ‘Purchase Invoice:...’ and be from 'webuyanycar'. Please check all areas of your email inbox including your junk folder.
  • over SMS if you entered a valid mobile number on booking an appointment. The text message will be from ‘webuyanycar’.
