James May, better known as Captain Slow by his fellow Top Gear presenters, has stated today that he will not be returning to the show without Jeremy Clarkson:
“It just wouldn’t work. That would be lame, or ‘awks’ as young people say.
“It has to be the three of us. You can’t just put a surrogate Jeremy in and expect it to carry on. It would be forced. I don’t believe they would be stupid enough to try that.”
So whilst Top Gear fans mourn the loss of James May from the show, let’s take at some of his best bits…
Telling it like it is.
“I don’t like snow. I hate being cold. I hate outdoor pursuits. I hate the idea that I’ve got to push my body to find the limit; and I can’t stand this stupid clothing that makes this rustling noise when you move all the time; and I hate the zips … and I hate your stupid truck.”
Imparting wisdom: “In cleaning the car you sort of clean your mind.”
Never at a loss for words. Especially when describing the function of a combination ice scraper/snow brush.
Always one to play by the rules.
Being the most observant of the Top Gear gang.
And always sticking to his famous catchphrase.
Captain Slow: we salute you.
