The Best Festival Roadtrip Playlist
by Ed Scott
Festival season has officially kicked off and so as well as packing all those festival essentials (tent, wellies, beer) you’ll need to sort out your road-trip playlist – get this wrong and your weekend could be a washout before it’s even begun.
Having your passengers moan at your music for the entire car journey isn’t the best start to any weekend away!
And because you can’t please all of the people, all of the time, just make sure there’s at least something for everyone at some point during the journey – even if that does mean throwing in the odd Take That track.
Or maybe not.
Anyway, to give you a kickstart, here is our bulletproof 12-track festival road trip playlist…[wbac_valuation utm_source=”blog” utm_medium=”banner” utm_campaign=”festival playlist”]
1. Pretty Viscious – Cave Song
It’s always good to kick things off with a new band people may never have heard of, and this one certainly fits the bill as Pretty Viscious are a top tip to break through later this year…
Then keep the rock dial turned up to 11 with these two stone cold classics…
2. The Stone Roses – Love Spreads
3. Jimi Hendrix – Crosstown Traffic
Then funk things up a little bit…
4. Toro Y Moi – Still Sound
5. CSS – Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death from Above
Then throw some dance into the mix…
6. Deadmau5 – Strobe (Gameboy remix)
7. Orbital – Chime Chime
8. Leftfield – Open Up
Insert random Take That track…
9. Take That – Do What U Like
Then get The Libertines in there quickly to restore some sanity…
10. The Libertines – Up the Bracket
Back it up with The Strokes (letting everyone know the drum beat at the start is identical to Hey Mickey!)
11. The Strokes – Hard to Explain
And finish off with Uptown Funk, well, because everybody loves Uptown Funk, right?
12. Mark Ronson – Uptown Funk
Enjoy.[wbac_valuation utm_source=”blog” utm_medium=”banner” utm_campaign=”festival playlist”]
