Hyperloop May Connect Dubai And Abu Dhabi In 12 Minutes
by Sarah Lomas
You may soon be able to travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes…yes, you read that right!
In a video released this week from the Burj Khalifa, Hyperloop One have announced that they want to build a futuristic super-fast transport system between the two cities. Initiated by the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, it would be the most advanced innovation in the world of transport.
The high-speed transport system would use electric propulsion to accelerate a passenger or cargo pod through a low-pressure tube at speeds of up to 700mph.
The distance between Dubai and Abu Dhabi is 150km and it currently takes an hour and half by car, an hour and 20 minutes by air and over an our by rail.
Although the technology is still in testing phase, they hope that Dubai and Abu Dahbi will be connected by 2020. And have already signed a feasibility deal with the emirate’s road and transportation agency.
They also have plans to connect Dubai and Fujairah in the future, as well other suggestions to connect with Riyadh and Doha.
Would you travel by Hyperloop?!
