Get to know your local webuyanycar.com branch: Southampton

Sean Cummings We Buy Any Car

Last time on the blog we chatted to Steve Truong who works at our Edinburgh branch, this week we’re getting to know Sean Cummings who works at We Buy Any Car Southampton.

Thanks for joining us Sean! Before we get to know more about your branch, why not tell us about the first car you owned?

I was 18 when I got my first car. It was a Peugeot 206 – a really nice, reliable car with a 1.1. engine. However, after just six months of owning it I decided to swap it for something slightly more powerful after a milk float raced ahead of me at a set of traffic lights!

Oh no… you were left eating a milkman’s dust! Aside from the Peugeot 206, what other cars have you owned?

I’ve also owned a Peugeot 205 GTI, Golf GTI, Focus ST170, Mondeo 2.5 V6 and a Mercedes C200.

A nice collection of cars – and much faster than a milk float! Have any of your cars ever let you down? When was the last time you broke down?

Again it was in a Peugeot (I don’t seem to have much like with that brand of car!). I was travelling to London for the day in my Peugeot 206 GTI and unbeknown to me a large part of my exhaust was badly rusted. The exhaust decided to fall apart on a busy roundabout which caused quite a tailback in traffic, a number of unhappy road users and a very embarrassed me!

Value my car

Sounds like a nightmare! Maybe let’s move away from the cars you’ve owned. If you had an unlimited budget, what car would you buy?

Now that would have to be a Caterham and a day on a race track. Nothing too flashy, but it would be a great fun to drive.

Interesting choice! What about some of the cars you’ve bought for We Buy Any Car recently? Any of them stick in your memory?

I bought a car recently from a truly inspirational gentleman! He explained to me that he had had a tough time of late with an illness which had spanned five years. After numerous operations, he decided to sell all of his possessions and travel the world. The final item he had to sell was his Audi S5 which he sold to me. After the purchase was complete I saw him leave the branch with a small suitcase heading straight to the airport to set off on his adventure.

Wow what a guy! Thinking about the other customers you’ve helped whilst working at We Buy Any Car, what would you say is the top reason people use us to sell their car?

I would say after talking to various customers, the thing they like most about We Buy Any Car is the ability to make a quick, hassle free sale. People run busy lives and don’t have the time to dedicate to selling their car privately – that’s where we come in!

Finally, how do we help people save money on their next car purchase?

By selling your car to We Buy Any Car ensures that the cash will be with you in just a few days. This means you can go to the showroom with cash in your pocket and this puts YOU in the driving seat. By having the funds readily available gives you the power to negotiate the deal you want for your next car.

There you have it – an insight into life at our Southampton branch! If you’re looking to sell your car, why not pay Sean a visit?
