Selling your car - full video transcript
Thanks for visiting the
webuyanycar.com website. Now I’d like to tell you what happens when you visit us in the real world as opposed to the virtual one
The first thing you’ll notice is someone like me who’ll welcome you and take you through the next stages of selling your car. Oh, and sort you out with tea or coffee! Once you’ve given us the keys, we’ll check your car over, while you’re relaxing with today’s paper and a cuppa. This is just to confirm that your car’s in the condition as described when you were completing the details online. It shouldn’t take more than 10 to 20 minutes depending on your car.
If there is any extra damage to the car than originally stated, we’ll show you and explain in full how this affects its value. Either way, we operate to a standard and transparent set of industry guidelines when it comes to assessing your car, so you’ll know exactly where you stand with your valuation.
Once we’ve made sure everything’s okay with your car, it’s time to sort out the documentation. To ensure the sale of your car goes through as smoothly as possible it’s important that you bring all of the following with you.
First, you’ll need two forms of ID, such as a utility bill, passport or your driving licence. Just to make sure we know who you are! If you have them, it would help to have any service documents for your car plus any MOT certificates past and present. Please don’t forget to bring all the sets of keys you have too, together with any radio code, sat nav disc if appropriate and the service history.
In order to pay you for your car, we’ll need to know the details of the bank account into which you would like the money transferred. Ideally, this should be a current account as some savings accounts won’t accept an electronic transfer. We’ll also need your V5 document, or logbook as it is frequently called. This should be in your name and should also match the name on your bank account details. Oh and just in case it’s in your maiden name, you’ll need to bring your marriage certificate as well. One more thing. Whilst
webuyanycar.com is happy to take care of any outstanding finance for you, you’ll need to bring along a copy of the document showing your settlement figure from the finance company. Please make sure that there are at least seven days before the settlement date so that we can pay the finance company in time!
Nearly forgot – if you’re selling the car on behalf of someone else, you’ll need a letter of authorisation from the owner too.
Right, once all that’s out of the way, we can get on with paying you for your car.
For security’s sake this is all done electronically, directly to your bank account and this usually arrives in your account within 3 to 4 working days. However, for a small charge, we can have your money with you the very next day as long as it’s a business day. And that’s it. No fuss. No hassle. And all over as quickly as possible. If there’s anything we haven’t answered, you might want to check out the Any Questions section on our website.
