Selling your car at our Halifax branch

Close to the M62, our Halifax branch is easy to locate and boasts ample free parking. Many of Halifax's attractions remind us of its heyday as a prosperous textile centre so why not make a day of it and delve into the history of the area's woollen industry. If you’ve got children with you then the award-winning National Children’s Museum, Eureka, is not to be missed! Check out the nine galleries and funky design shop at Dean Clough which is a centre for theatre, music and contemporary art.

• Leave the M62 at junction 26
• Take the A58 in the direction of Halifax
• At the Hipperholme Crossroads, continue forward onto the A58 towards Halifax
• At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A58 towards Huddersfield A629 and Manchester M62
• At Orange Street roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A629 in the direction of Keighley
• After approximately 1.5 miles, turn left onto Nursery Lane
• Go to the end of Nursery Lane and turn right onto Cousin Lane
• Club Lane is the 3rd road on the right

What happens when I arrive to sell my car?

You'll usually be met by Ben Johnson, who manages our Halifax branch.  Ben will firstly check your documentation to ensure you have the correct documents and proofs of identity and will then conduct a short inspection of your car to check its condition.  This usually takes around ten minutes. You can accompany Ben while your car is given the once over.

How will I be able to get home once I've sold my car?

Most customers bring a friend or relative along to give them a lift home but if you need to use public transport, you'll be pleased to know that there are plenty of options.

• Taxi - Ben will be happy to arrange for a local taxi firm to collect you
• Train - Halifax Train Station is just 2.5 miles from our branch
• Bus - Halifax Bus Station is less than 2 miles from our branch with the nearest bus stop being on Keighley Road, a 3 minute walk from our branch

Once I've sold my car, when will I receive my money?

All of our payments are made by electronic bank transfer for security reasons - it's simply not safe or practical to pay by cash!  Our standard payment service is BACS which takes 3-4 working days.  Alternatively, we can arrange a CHAPS payment.  With CHAPS, the money will clear into your bank account on the next working day.  This is a popular service and attracts a small fee to cover the additional bank charges involved.
