Honesty is the best policy but time is money |
![]() |
If your car is still sitting pretty on the driveway or gathering dust in the garage and you’re asking yourself how to get the most money for the least effort, well here’s how... The best way to get the best price is to get any dents, scratches and scuffs repaired, then get it professionally valetted, then take plenty of photos, then spend money advertising it, then sit patiently waiting for the phone to ring, then keep your fingers crossed that no tyre kickers, motor traders or weirdos will come round late at night to haggle over a price and leave you with a bouncing cheque. Selling your car privately will make you the most money but if you really can’t be bothered with the hassle and you value your time, for what may only be a few quid you could sell it immediately. |

Happy 40th Birthday Range Rover |
| Range Rover’s 40th birthday went off with a bang as the Evoque, the newest member of the Range Rover family, was launched and Victoria Beckham was unveiled as the brand’s creative design executive. With her knowledge of all things luxurious and fashionable, VB’s seal of approval will undoubtedly convince ladies on both sides of the pond that the new Evoque is a must-have accessory. The smaller and sleeker Range Rover Evoque, which is more in tune with the brand’s feminine side, was unveiled by TV presenter George Lamb at a star-studded event held in association with Vogue magazine at Kensington Palace. With prices starting at £35k, the car is largely based on the popular Freelander but with a sportier ride and handling keeping in sync with the Evoque’s urban character. The Evoque will be launched to the public at the Paris motor show in September when full spec details and accurate prices will be revealed. If you’ve got your heart set on a new set of wheels, why not keep one step ahead of the game and have your car valued atwebuyanycar.com first. |

A bumpy road to romance for dirty car owners |
| As temperatures soar, the weather isn’t the only thing us single Brits are hoping is set to sizzle this summer. A recent survey conducted by webuyanycar.com has revealed that if some summer loving is on the cards, you might want to think about cleaning up your act on the roads. The poll has revealed that nearly 4 in 10 first daters would be put off their potential suitor by the car they drive. A dirty car was voted the worst dating crime with an unfashionable and old banger in second and third place. Over half of romancing Brits would be unimpressed if their date arrived in a car that smelt of cigarettes. Road rage (55%), booming music (48%) and boy racer modifications (40%) would also lead to a dead end. Help is at hand though! The survey also revealed that love is most likely to blossom if the date destination is a country pub and you arrive by Porsche or Audi. We’re not a picky bunch are we! |

Light on the wallet, even lighter on the safety: |
| As the new Nissan Micra Supermini makes its way to car showrooms in time for its November launch, new concerns over the safety of budget brands are being raised and those with their eye on Nissan’s latest model are being warned not to expect a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Recent changes to the Euro NCAP crash safety scoring is making it harder for cheaper cars to score the maximum five-stars for safety. Complaints from affordable car manufacturers have unsurprisingly been flooding in as manufacturers trying to keep both safety features and prices competitive believe achieving five star status will be increasingly difficult. Changes are welcomed however by consumers who know that a 5 star safety rating is essential. If you’re thinking of making way for a safer runner, try webuyanycar.com for an instant online valuation on your current wheels.

The future according to Vauxhall |
The Vauxhall Ampera range-extender electric or E-REV is the latest design to give us a green glimpse of the future. The Ampera which is due to roll off the production line in early 2012 is driven by a 150bhp electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery pack but also has a 74bhp 1.4 litre petrol engine. 3 hours charge on off-peak energy will give owners a range of 40 miles and if you’re still on the road after 40 miles, the petrol engine will kick in generating the battery to power you on for a further 310 miles. Genius! And the good news doesn’t stop there. Despite its innovative design, the Ampera drives just like a normal car so there’s no need to change the way you drive. The Government are lending a hand with the price tag too, bringing the cost down to a more reasonable £25k with the help of a £5k grant. If a more efficient motor is on the shopping list, go to webuyanycar.com for a online valuation. |
