Unlike other valuation websites, we don't just offer you an electronic guide price; we take everything you’ve told us about your car into account before we send you a valuation.
Confirmation:
- If you are happy with the valuation and wish to sell, follow the link from the valuation email to book an appointment online for us to view your car and arrange for payment to be made
Purchase:
- Bring your car to one of our modern, drop-off points. Details will be forwarded to you when you've received our valuation email
- You will need to bring all documents, keys etc. for the vehicle
- If your online appraisal matches our on site appraisal, we'll check a few details and arrange everything there and then
- The selling process takes just 15 to 20 minutes
- We will pay directly in to your bank account which takes 3 to 4 working days
- We can arrange settlement of any outstanding finance on your car. Please note that you will need to provide a letter detailing a current settlement figure from your finance company and that the settlement amount will be deducted from the amount paid to you for your car

We hold information on all UK cars manufactured since 1982. If you are unable to find your car it may be because:
- Your car is not of UK origin (imported)
- It's a van or commercial vehicle - we only buy cars!
- Your car is over 25 years old
It's not a problem - simply drop us an email to queries@webuyanycar.com with your details and a contact number and one of our team of expert valuers will call you back.
Please do not choose the nearest model to your car in an attempt to obtain a price as we will be unable to honour valuations where your vehicle is different to the vehicle selected for your quote.
Our valuation is based on the details you provide us. We hold the details you enter when obtaining a valuation and will check that this information is accurate when we see your car.
If your online appraisal does not match our appraisal of the car on viewing, we may adjust the valuation.
We’ll be happy to give you a valuation for your car, but cannot buy your car whilst it has a personalised registration. The good news is that it’s easy to reassign a personalised registration to another car or to put the registration onto a retention certificate so that it can be sold or reassigned at a later date.

Once you’ve reassigned your personalised registration and received your replacement V5 registration document (log book), we’ll be happy to buy your car!
We need your email address so that we can send your car valuation, once it has been calculated. We ask for your telephone number so that we can get in touch if we have any queries about your car. Please note, we fully adhere to the 1998 Data Protection Act and will not divulge any of your personal details to any other third party.
We use a technology called Secure Socket Layer (SSL) when transferring information between your computer and the webuyanycar.com website. This is the same technology that is used on banking websites and for processing credit card transactions over the Internet and ensures that data sent between the website and your computer cannot be read by others. Your information is stored in full compliance with the 1998 Data Protection Act and will not be shared with any other company outside of UK Car Group Ltd without your express permission.
Once you’ve received your valuation by email, you will be able to click on the link in the email which allows you to make an appointment online at a time and place that is convenient to you. Once you’ve made an appointment we will send you a confirmation email with all your details and one of our valuers on site will give you a courtesy call to answer any questions you may have and ensure you bring all the necessary documentation with you.
We have a national network of drop-off points. When you click on the link in your valuation email to book an appointment, we will match your postcode to the drop-off point nearest to you. You can then arrange an appointment at a time and location that suits you best.
All our drop-off points have excellent transport links and are well signposted making them easy to find. Please remember to arrange your transport home prior to your appointment as we are unable to offer a lift home in most cases. However, we will arrange for a local taxi to come and collect you if required.
When you click on the link in your valuation email you can see the appointment slots available. We are open 7 days a week and in most cases open until late.
When you arrive at the drop-off point just check-in at the information desk.
It’s important that we establish that the person selling the vehicle is actually the owner, therefore we require the following details:
- Two forms of identification; such as utility bill, passport, driving licence etc
- Both sets of car keys if available
- All service history and MOT certificates if available
- Bank details and V5 logbook/registration certificate (if the V5 logbook/registration certificate is still in the owner’s maiden name, you will need to bring a copy of your marriage certificate)
- If you are selling on behalf of a relative or friend then we require a letter of authorisation from the owner. The bank details must match the same name as the registered keeper on the V5 logbook/registration certificate
- If the vehicle has any finance outstanding we will require a letter with the settlement figure from the finance company

Valuations issued from webuyanycar.com are subject to viewing the car and should not be construed as a contract. The condition of your vehicle must be confirmed by a member of our valuation team prior to purchase. In some cases, this may mean that we can increase the offer we originally made; however in some circumstances, it may be necessary for us to reduce the valuation.
We are unable to purchase any car without the original V5 document (log book) as this allows us to check all is in order with your car.
If you do not have one you can obtain a new document by filling in form V62 which you can download from the DVLA or pick up from any Post Office. The completed form and appropriate fee should be sent to DVLA, Swansea SA99 1AR. It normally takes 3 to 4 weeks to obtain a new V5.
The V5 (log book) holds the details of the registered keeper of the vehicle. To prevent fraud, we will only purchase a vehicle from you if it is your name on the V5. If you wish to sell your car and there is a legitimate reason why you are not the registered keeper, please email queries@webuyanycar.com with full details and we'll do our best to help.
We will still buy your car. Bear in mind that models and specifications vary from country to country, so the price may differ from that of a UK supplied car in some circumstances.

At present, we only buy cars registered on the British Mainland. This excludes cars registered in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. The primary reason for this is that it is difficult for us to check the history of the car, particularly with regard to possible finance interests.
There are two types of import: a “parallel” import (i.e. purchased within the EU) and a “grey” import (i.e. purchased outside the EU). Cars which are parallel imports can be valued normally through webuyanycar.com online. However, “grey” imports will require a manual valuation. If your car is a “grey” import it’s not a problem – simply drop us an email to queries@webuyanycar.com with the details – which can be found on your V5 registration document and one of our team of expert valuers will be in touch.
We use the most secure method possible – electronic bank transfer. We'll arrange payment direct to your bank account which takes 3 to 4 working days. There is no charge for this service and it protects you from the risk of carrying around large sums of cash or losing a cheque.
If you need your money more quickly, we offer a premium fast payment service for a small charge. When you choose our fast payment service, the payment will be made directly to your bank account and will be available to spend on the next working day.

When you bring your car down to one of our drop-off points you will receive a purchase invoice which will have the details of the transaction, the terms and conditions are also clearly marked on here. Payment will be made directly to your bank account within 3 to 4 working days using our standard service or on the next working day if you choose our fast payment service*.

We are a licensed credit broker and used to handling settlements on behalf of our customers. We will be happy to settle the outstanding finance as part of the transaction.
Depending on the finance company and due to Data Protection regulations, you may have to obtain your settlement in writing on our behalf. If you wish to settle the outstanding finance yourself, we will need written confirmation of payment from your finance company prior to us purchasing your car. You will be reminded of this in our e-mail to you.
If you owe more on your finance than the value of the car, we will still be happy to buy the car, but you will need to pay us the shortfall by debit card when we purchase your car.
No. We can only pay money to the legal owner of the vehicle. If you are acting as an agent on behalf of the owner then we will only make payment to the legal owner’s instructed bank account.
Valuation emails usually arrive within moments but can take up to 20 minutes in exceptional circumstances. If you have not received an email by this time, you may have entered your email address incorrectly on the website or it may have been intercepted by the spam or junk email filter on your computer. ‘Spam’ filters are designed to stop junk email from arriving in your inbox but may occasionally block legitimate emails in error.
Our emails are carefully worded to minimise the possibility of ending up in your spam filter, but there are some things you can check if you think this has happened. Within your email software, you may have a folder called ‘Junk Email’, ‘Spam’ or something similar. If you do, check inside it for our email. If it is, your software should allow you to mark webuyanycar.com as a trusted sender for future messages. Some spam filters may divert email to your ‘Deleted Items’ folder – this is worth checking also.
